Specializations are selectable paths for a class to specialize in. It can be reached by either clicking on its icon located on the bottom-right of the screen or by pressing the default hotkey (J).
Overview[]
Each class has two basic specialization trees and one advanced specialization tree. For the basic specializations, the player can invest Specialization Points in either tree, or both simultaneously. Specialization Points can be earned by leveling up the respective class's class level.
For the basic specializations, 1 Specialization Point is earned for each class level up to class level 55. From class levels 56 to 65, two Specialization Points are earned for each class level. No additional basic Specialization Points will be earned after class level 65, at which point a player would have 75 total Specialization Points. A class's basic specializations can be reset for free if that class is level 40 or under. At higher levels, the player must pay a fee that scales with the class level.
As for the advanced specialization tree, 5 Advanced Specialization Points are awarded beginning at class level 42, and 5 more are awarded for every level thereafter. Certain tiles on the advanced specialization tree, particularly the gray, silver, and gold square tiles, function as "upgrades" of tiles on the basic specialization tree; the corresponding basic tiles are required in order for them to have any effect.
